Mike McGill was a Regent at John F. Kennedy University (JFKU) for 20 years (1989-2009), serving as Board Chair from 1998 to 2005 and 2019-Present. Mike McGill has served as a Trustee for JFKU from 2005 to Present. Mike McGill was awarded the Kennedy Citations for Outstanding Leadership in 2004.

As President of the Board, he led the move of JFKU from Orinda to purchasing our own building in Pleasant Hill, CA. In 2014, JFKU became an affiliate of the National University System and Mike McGill was elected to the Trustee of the National University System (NUS). He is Chair of the NUS Compensation Committee.

The National University System meets the changing educational needs of diverse student populations with multiple pathways to reach their educational goals. In addition to JFKU and National University, there are five other affiliated institutions located around the world. Mike McGill is also a Trustee of these including City University of Seattle and Pre-College Programs.
